Tea time - wooden shabby chic box / tea time cutie din lemn in stil shabby chic

Hello all, Here's a new shabby chic wooden box I restored for my best friend. A very old box has received a new life...:)

Shabby wooden box / Cutie de lemn cu un aer vechi

Hello, This is another birthday present made for someone special. She loves handmade too and creates wonderful decoupage pieces. Because we share the passion for crafting, I thought this box is the ideal present. For this box, I used some small rice paper flowers, acylic paints, and transfer paper  from Stamperia for the wording.

Shabby chic wooden box/ Cutie de lemn - shabby chic

Hello, Some time ago I bought from the internet a wooden box that I thought to be smaller than it actually is...From the pictures you might not see it, but it is huge..:) Initially, I wanted to decorate it using a paper napkin, but because of the dimensions I switched to rice paper. It is the first time I worked with rice paper for a greater scale project...and I can tell you...it is better than paper napkin. Rice paper, though very thin, is sturdier and has a better structure than paper napkins. The technique is a classic shabby chic and I used some transfer paper from Stamperia to add some text here and there. The top of the box: one of the sides: and from an angle:

Pansy vintage card and paper pralines / Panseluta si praline de hartie

Hi, Today's post is about a very special birthday gift I made for a very special lady :)....a card and a box with two miniature paper pralines. For the card, I used one of the newest floral die cut sets from Sizzix:  Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 12PK - Flower, Pansy/Violet Besides the pansy and the two violets, I made two small carnations from some leftover pralines paper cups. Here's the vintage shabby chic box with the pralines (the first I ever made...:)  ) To create the shabby chic look of the box, I used rice paper and acrylic paints. This project is one of my favorites...I loved making it! I hope you like it too! :)

Spring wooden box / Cutie de lemn ornata de primavara

Hello all, For today's post I prepared my latest wooden box project. Actually it is a special order for a friend. She asked for a box that would have on the lid the biggest possible red flower...very red in fact...:) So, I started by making the center flower from handmade paper. For the petals, I used the peony template from  Martha Stewart's website . The tough part was to obtain the bright red I needed...I started with am mate red acrylic paint which became orange when diluted with water...:D. So, after the petal dried, I colored them one by one, on both sides, with a red aquarelle pencil. After this new coat of paint dried again, I still hadn't  the red I wanted, so I applied one last coat of food dye. The making of this flower took me a week in total. I used punches for the rest of the flowers, so they were a lot easier to make. To color the cream and yellow ones I used chalks. Here are some photos with details of the box:  For the s...

A cute vintage bike is all we need to make Spring come sooner / O bicicleta simpatica e tot ce ne trebuie ca sa aducem primavara mai repede!

Hello, Would you like to see Spring coming quicker? Well...Here's how I thought it can be done :) This is a gift for a very special young lady...:) The soutache jewelry set (necklace and earrings) is made by Diana Borici Andrei , and I made the little box (you have already seen it) and the coordinating vintage bike card. Thanks Diana...you had a great idea!

Cutiuta cadou vintage / Vintage small ghift box

Hello all, A few weeks ago I received the long awaited "Punch a bunch" paper punches (sooo happy about it)... Last week I finally found the time to try my hand at making a paper anemone from a book called Paper Bouquet by Susan Cockburn .  I had some other paper flowers already made for other projects, so I started thinking about arranging them to make a topper for a small gift box. After trying various combinations I finally decided for this one: Vintage...of course...:) !

Suport pentru creioane si biletele / Pencils and sticky notes holder

hello, here's another project inspired by  Score, Fold, Create . The templates for the pencil holder and for the sticky notes box come from the book. I used some leftover paper from a Christmas pack by  DoCrafts , but by using the little hearts to ornate it, I hope I gave it a more of an all year round feel...:) What do you think?

Cutiuta rosu cu alb / Red and white gift box

Hello, As this is my first post this year, I would like to wish you all Happy New Year! and lots of new creative ideas...:) These days I finally found the time to try some of the projects from  Score, Fold, Create , a book by Dianna Crick, Penny Wessenauer and their friends. Today I shall show you my version of what in the book is called "Card & Gift Box in one". As Valentine's day is right around the corner, I made it red and white. First I made the sleeve. After finishing the actual box, I decided to attach it to the sleeve with some double sided tape. As a result, I've been able to use part of the sleeve as a lid for the box. I kept the last part of the sleeve for the sentiment...there is a red rectangle on which you can write a few words. In the book, the sleeve becomes the card...next time I shall try this version too.

Cutie ornata cu legume quilling / Quilled vegetables wood box

Hello all, I just finished this project I've been working on, for some weeks now...It is a wood box, decorated with quilled vegetables on the lid, and some decoupage vegetables on the sides. I found the idea in  Elizabeth Moad's book: Thrilling Quilling This box will be a gift for a dear friend...and so, because I have to part with it, I think I will make another one..:) Update: As I was saying...I made another one...:) This one has a sunflower on the lid...on the exterior and on the interior too. This was a special order...for a birthday present.

Cutiuta mica pentru cadou / Tiny box for a tiny present

Hello all, Have you ever needed quickly a small gift box and no time to buy it? I for one, never have enough gift boxes or bags...or at least I don'have them when I need them. So, here's one I've made to have it just in case (and of course for the fun of making it...:)   ) I used some scrap cardstock (printed on both sides) and some hand painted paper I had from another project. Here it is: It's a 5x5x2 cm box, very well suited for small jewelry. Enjoy!

Cutie vintage / Vintage ghift box

Hello, Here is one of the first gift boxes I ever made (more than a year ago). I used  a cardboard box which I covered with a napkin, gave it a vintage look, varnished it, and then covered it's center with some quilling. Then, I needed to think with what to fill it...:) something original and sweet, as it was ment to be a gift for a very dear cousin...So, I bought candied fruits, as many as I could squeez in...:)

Cutiuta origami / small origami gift box

Hello all, since Easter is getting closer, and we all start thinking about gifts, here is a small origami box I made some time ago (before starting the blog...:) ... ). I made it from gift wrap and decorated it with a flower made using a heart shaped punch and small golden butterflies. Here is the tutorial I used when learning how to fold it: http://foldsomething.com/2010/origami-videos/rectangular-box-with-lid/
