Bon Voyage!

Hi, I bought recently some travel themed stamps and tags...It seems like I was just in time to make a card for someone retiring. It is a masculine card, so no flowers or glitter...:)) but I think it looks fun! It invites you to travel the world...but also to remember the time spent in Timisoara...:) Card size: A5

Vinatge travel diary / Jurmal de calatorie..

hello, Here's my latest creation...A friend asked me to do a travel themed card...but when I started working, I decided to make travel diary instead...:) It is about a journey to Paris...here's how it looks like:

Hi, here's my latest project...again with an African theme. I started with two pieces of rice papers: an African girl wit a clay pot, and an African village at sunset. So I had two different ranges of colors. I used a stencil to create the background for the African girl wall art - the idea was to make the onlooker think that the girl is standing in front of a wall. The African village scene came out very antiquated due to the crackle varnish and the very small pebbles I used to make a frame for the image. Both pieces are done on  wooden shelf boards. The photos are not very good... but I hope you will get an idea about how they look like.

Shabby chic wooden box / Cutie din lemn in stil shabby chic

Shabby chic wooden box/ Cutie de lemn - shabby chic

Hello, Some time ago I bought from the internet a wooden box that I thought to be smaller than it actually is...From the pictures you might not see it, but it is huge..:) Initially, I wanted to decorate it using a paper napkin, but because of the dimensions I switched to rice paper. It is the first time I worked with rice paper for a greater scale project...and I can tell you...it is better than paper napkin. Rice paper, though very thin, is sturdier and has a better structure than paper napkins. The technique is a classic shabby chic and I used some transfer paper from Stamperia to add some text here and there. The top of the box: one of the sides: and from an angle:

Decoupage on wooden board - African theme / Tehnica servetelului pe lemn - tema africana

Hello, Lately it seems I'm coming back to the first technique that brought me to the handmade world...decoupage. Here's a wall art piece finished yesterday: I used a paper napkin with an African theme, some coordinating acrylic paints, and to make it look really old, crackle lacquer and some stamps. To seal everything, I applied two coats of matt varnish. The wooden base is actually a shelf board.

Decoupage on glass / Tehnica servetelului pe sticla

Hello, Last week I finally got around to making my first experiments with decoupage on glass. I decorated a plate and a glass fitted with a copper frame. For the plate I used a paper napkin with lemons: For the framed glass I used a paper napkin with vintage roses.  The decoupage technique is done in revers when working on glass, because we work on the back of the glass.

The little birthady girl / Fetita cu cadoul

Hello, Here's a new birthday card I made for my favorite two years old little friend ...:) The digi stamp is WeeSuzi from Wee Stamps , cored with chalk. As the stamp is quite big, I made a gate fold A5 card embellished with flowers from a Sizzix  cutters and stamps set. Card size: A5

Ranunculus and Anemone

Paper Bauble for the Christmas tree / Glob de hartie pentru pomul de Craciun

Hello, Some time ago I discovered this amazing site:  http://papermatrix.wordpress.com  that presents traditional Danish paper crafts. Since Christmas is not that far away now, I thought I'd try my hand at the easiest design of spheres:  http://papermatrix.wordpress.com/2011/02/19/sphere-001/ So I printed the template on colored cardstock and followed the instructions. I have to tell you... it is not at all easy to cut all the paper strips by hand, but the most difficult is weave them tight enough so sphere closes correctly in the end. Here's how my first bauble turned out (is is far from perfect, but it wasn't a complete disaster either): The next time, I shall try with thinner sheets of paper maybe...
