Woven paper cone / Cosulet con, din hartie tesuta

hello, Recently I received the link to Paper Matrix , a wonderful site managed by Lene and Anna Schepper, dedicated to the Danish tradition of woven paper ornaments. Thanks for sharing your designs! I found so many nice ornaments, from flag garlands to hearts, spheres and eggs, that I did not where to start. As I am a beginner in this technique, I started with the simplest cone: http://papermatrix.wordpress.com/2010/12/04/cone-001/ . Following the explanations from the post, I managed to make this: Since it's the first, it is far from perfect, but I am proud of it...:)) I shall try other designs too...especially the simpler ones which do not require a cutting machine.

Masculine birthady card

Spring wooden box / Cutie de lemn ornata de primavara

Hello all, For today's post I prepared my latest wooden box project. Actually it is a special order for a friend. She asked for a box that would have on the lid the biggest possible red flower...very red in fact...:) So, I started by making the center flower from handmade paper. For the petals, I used the peony template from  Martha Stewart's website . The tough part was to obtain the bright red I needed...I started with am mate red acrylic paint which became orange when diluted with water...:D. So, after the petal dried, I colored them one by one, on both sides, with a red aquarelle pencil. After this new coat of paint dried again, I still hadn't  the red I wanted, so I applied one last coat of food dye. The making of this flower took me a week in total. I used punches for the rest of the flowers, so they were a lot easier to make. To color the cream and yellow ones I used chalks. Here are some photos with details of the box:  For the sides I used

Boy or girl? - new baby card / Fetita sau baietel? - felicitare nou nascut

Hi all, Yesterday I was asked by Claudia, my colleague, to make a new baby card. Well... easy enough I thought...until she told me that we do not know if the baby will be a boy or a girl...:) So, we put our heads together, and inspired by another card we found online, here's what we came up with: For the baby clothes we used a cute stamp from Stamperia, which e colored with chalks. Then, we cut out each one and attached them to the string with double sided foam tape. We had so much fun making it! I hope it will make you smile too.   Card size: A5

Felicitare cu cupcake / Birthday cupcake card

Hello, While searching the internet for some birthday related digi stamps, I stumbled upon Tim Holtz's blueprint stamps  My favorite is the cupcake...:) and since I was in a hurry to make the card (the pack from overseas would have arrived too late) I tried to draw the cupcake myself. Here's how the card turned out: To color the cupcake, I used aquarelle pencils, and the background is a free digital paper from Far Far Hill . Enjoy!

O felie de tort intr-o dupa-amiaza de duminica/ Cake birthday card

Hello, A few days ago I found on  http://www.deviantart.com/  some gorgeous images of various slices of cakes. I couldn't resist to download some. So, in the coming weeks I am going to make some birthday cards with them. Here's the first: To make this card, I began by stamping some text on a card blank, then, to give it an old feel, I used my new  card making chalks. For the red frame I used the 657993 Sizzix Sizzlits Die - Card, Bracket Insert By Dena Designs (just the negative that resulted after cutting) Card size: 16x16 cm

A little boy's dream - Birthday card / Visul unui baietel - felicitare

Hello, Let me show you one of my latest cards ... It was a special order for the first birthday of a sweet little boy. For this card I used some tissue paper (transferred on freezer paper to give it strength) as background, and one of the dozens of  Precious Moments images which can be found over the Internet as card topper. I colored the little boy in an airplane digi stamp, with Copic markers, and mounted it on the card with double sided foam sticky tape. To give the background an old card look, I used some aquarelle pencils and stamp ink on the edges. Card size: 10x15 cm
